    So I survived the party...but everyone there could tell there was alot of tension...it was just really weird. MIL got there first and I went to the garage to smoke (horrible, I know). My parents came next. My mom was just soooo bubbly and vibrant and sat down and talked to mil pretty much the whole time so as to keep her away from me. My sil, brother and niece came as well as dh's sister & her dh. My sil(bro's wife) also sat and talked to mil.

MIL spent practically the whole time talking about herself...all of her problems and illnesses. Then I was trying to get things going as I was tired of hearing her carry on...so everyone came into the kitchen...and that was the first time she and I were actually face to face. All she said was Hi Amy...and she acted like it killed her to even say that..and I said hi back...that was the only thing we said to each other the whole time

I was really surprised that she seemed soooo cold because the way dh told me that she seemed soo overjoyed to be able to come when he invited her with the way she broke down and cried and all...I thought she would be more...errr pleasant.

It was really funny at one point...we have a tri/split level house so our den has like 6 steps going down to it. DH says to mil...come down to look on the computer at our vacation pics. MIL practically shouts "NO WAY! I'M NOT TAKING THE CHANCE OF FALLING DOWN THOSE STEPS AND HURTING MYSELF!" I almost fell out of my chair laughing. Everyone just kind of looked at each other like ooookkkkkkaaayy

Today dh and I talked about yesterday..and he said that mil was even getting on his nerves carrying on about her problems. I asked ahim about the steps and he said she had even more steps at her home    See what a drama queen she is?

I'm just glad it's all over! I wish it could have been more fun for Macy...which she had a great time. I'd bought her a pool Saturday so after everyone left, the kids got in it and got cooled off...it's been sooo hot here yesterday it was 97! Ughhh I know next month I have to do this all over again...Josh's b-day is coming up...lol....maybe mil won't show up

Glad it went well. You would still think she would feel too stupid to talk about herself, but I guess she's too dumb to know that. LOL!

I guess she thought if she could get everyone's sympathy that they wouldn't be mad at her  Dh said last night that he really admired my mother      because she could always take a bad situation and make the most of it. My mother by the way despises MIL   I said to him yeah, thank goodness for her fakeness! He was really taking a stab at me meaning I should just let everything that's gone on with mil go and start kissing her ass again so that she's happy   He also said that he appreciated my mother for being so gracious and tolerating mil going on about all of her problems...even he and his sister didn't sit there to listen to her!

LOL and as for the name thing on FB...I told dh when I was mad at him that I thought it was so nice that I found out thru FB that our son's name had been chosen even though I didn't know what it was. He acted like he didn't know what I was talking about then said that he told SIL that we were thinking of Evan Dallas  which I had mentioned it to him once but we never really said okay this is it     He blamed it on a lack of communication between him and his sister.

I still firmly believe that men are idiots

Glad everything went well. I am sure Macy had fun, she got to eat junk food and be spoiled for a day by more than just mommy and daddy. Hope MIL doesnt talk about her probs again next month on Josh's bday... lol

LOL Nikki...YES seriously she did expect that! That's the way her mind works...I'm glad that I don't have to deal with her...but I do feel bad for dh since she's playing the poor pittiful me card with him right now over her illnesses  and she's started giving her things away again (a classic sign of contemplating suicide) making her kids think something is going to happen soon    ugh it's so frustrating because she won't get help

  Yeah that's silly. Why would a mother ever want her children to worry she might commit suicide???  That's just evil. I personally think suicide is stupid and selfish anyway, but if you're a mom, then it should ABSOLUTELY never cross your mind. How selfish of a mother to think she could do that, even with adult children. UGH.
