hi ladies been to the midwife today ,measured my tummy dead on 28cm to match my weeks i knew that anyway coz i get dom to measure me every week hahaha,my blood pressure is a little low but nothing to worry about ,baby heartebeat was heard nicely, shes seeing me again in 3 weeks oh she took my blood too to check to see if im anemic and anoher to ceck antibiodies or something,my wee is also fine,
oh also harvey as 5 spots on his tummy and i thought he had been bitten as he plays on garden but climbs through bushes tlking to a little girl the other side of the fence,so i thought something in the bushes bit him,but then this morning on evi's head i noticed a like clear blister on her forehead and one on her back, looked more closely and he's got some similar to evi on his face and neck, evi complained her mouth hurt so took a look and she got little spots inside her mouth , agggggghhhhh chicken pox, i know this coz 3/4 of the scool as had em over the past few months,so where no in quarantine as they cant go near anyone who is recently pregnant or in very late stages or adults who's immune system are poor or poorly people ,they would have to have 2 weeks off school but its the summer holidays anyway soooo thats not soo bad, there ok but seem very sleepy, archie will be next,i had em as a child so should be immune but not sure about dom xx

You look great. Awe poor kids. Do you guys have the chicken pox vaciantion there? It's newer here, and Claire got it, but my older two didn't as it wasn't available back then. They both got chicken pox with in 2 weeks of each other. I think it's about 2 weeks before you usually get them once you've been exposed.

thanx amy harvey is covered in them now under his eyes on his lips, his jimmy :( yea we have calomine lotion here its really cheap too but i brought something called virasoothe it the ew up to date thing i guess reduce's scarring and itching,i rememebr calomine lotion :D my mum plastered me in it i looked like ghost,im just worrying with mine picking the scabs wish they'd caught em younger but oh well, they had a good night sleep last night but i was in and out from 9.30 till 10.30 "im itching" "my throat hurts" "can i have some water" i thought oh god what will my night be like but they was ok.im gonna get some calomine lotion coz this crappy lil tub isnt gonna last long for 3 kids, archies showing no signs but he as started with a runny nose.
thank you jen :D no we dont have it ere just the measels mumps and rubella and polio and flu.its not serious at all here, doc said it is catching before spots come out until the scabs crust over, well there's avnt crusted yet,yea they have to have 2 weeks off ,thing is tho they'v already passed it on before they had the spots, i think they give the vaccine to certain people, like if i was under 12 weeks pregnant or 38-40 weeks pregnant and a blood test showed up i wasnt immune they'g give it to me.
also iv heard you can get it more than once anyway and i keep itching and looking for spots hahaha i know its in my head, but all this bathing and creaming of kids im itching :D :D
also archie keeps calling harvey spotty and evi said oh archie wait till you got chicken pox then we'll laugh   evi still as the one on her head and back and in her mouth now one under her armpit not even half as much as harvey but iv heard they are worse as they get older x

Yes they are contagious before you even see any spots.
I think it's reare to get them a second time, but some people do. Also shingles is the chicken pox virus, so thats usually what adults get (had to have chickne pox first though), but I don't know if it is from exposure to chicken pox. I don't think it is.

Glad your apt went well! :D :D Oh how I remember the chicken pox! LOL! I had them twice, because my first time was very mild. It's kinda a "cool" illness to have, since you can still play with your friends who've had them!

I had mid case when i was very little adn the cadught them again when i was about 13, another mild case. Because I had mild cases twice my midwife was concerned while i was pg adn the pox went around my work. They make me leave work and go to the daycare to work until my tests for ummunity came back. I am immune now!!!
but its WAY worse when you get them older. You know enough not to scratch but you cant help it and the calamine lotions and oatmeal baths dont seem to do anything you. I even tried benadryl to make the itch go away adn it did nothing.

Good luck and i do hope they all get them now so it wont happen when they are any older. Bath them all together to help them all get it done and over with

Aww bless them Lorna..and you too. Now they make the calamine lotion that dries clear     I remember being covered in the stuff myself when I had them, back then it was pasty looking  oooh it was soo hard not to scratch :( Hopefully they will get well soon!

Here they have to be vaccinated before they start school...I believe Macy has already had one round of the shot and is due for another soon...and Josh has had 2 doses as well.
   @ Evi...so cute saying that to Archie

:( :( I'm sorry Lorna! Poor kids! I don't think they can, I do believe skin to skin contact is needed to actually spread them. Or skin to an infected surface at least.

I got curious so I looked it up, it can be spread both ways, thru contact with the rash or coughs and sneezes of infected individuals. Apparently, the baby can become infected, but not in the usual way from what I read. It's much more serious, and can cause some serious defects. It did say if you're immune it is not a problem though, only if you become infected during pregnancy.
